Hello, I understand your concern Normally, by 6 months, most babies roll both ways and explore objects with their mouth. Delay in these may indicate developmental lag, often mild, but sometimes may suggest neuromotor or sensory issues. Check if there was any delay in these milestones: Head control, Social smile, Eye contact, Response to sound, Sitting with support, Any stiffness or floppiness Early therapy can help children catch up significantly. We’ll assess thoroughly and support your child with appropriate therapy.
Next Steps
Tummy time (supervised) daily Encourage reaching, rolling, mouthing with toys Use bright-colored and sound-producing toys to encourage interaction Allow floor time over restrictive equipment (e.g., walkers)
Health Tips
Your child will need a detailed clinical examination, developmental screening, certain investigations (MRI brain, thyroid, vision and hearing assessment) and referral to specialist (Pediatric neurologist, physiotherapist, occupational therapist)

At 8.5 months, most babies start exploring by rolling and putting toys in their mouth. Since your baby is not doing these things yet, we want to check if her motor and sensory development is happening normally. This doesn’t always mean a serious problem, but it’s better to assess early.
Next Steps
I’ll recommend a developmental screening and, if needed, a visit to a pediatric neurologist or physiotherapist.
Health Tips
The earlier we intervene, the better the outcomes if any support is needed

We will like to see what are other milestones achieved. How well is able to do when on the tummy? Can she pull herself up to a sitting position? Can she sit unsupported for sometime? How about stranger anxiety? If you give food, does she ‘rake’ food towards herself? How about mama and bababa sounds?
Next Steps
The development milestones need to be evaluated in detail in conjunction with growth milestones and birth history
Health Tips
Often a part of milestone does not follow a usual pattern and variations are always there. To catch a developmental delay is very important to seek proper intervention and support and it is better to rally with an overall picture and achievement
