I'm new mom of 18 days baby boy. How many times in a day should I feed my baby? Can I give Dexolac and mother feed both in a day? Baby is crying alot. He always want something in his mouth to suck. Please suggest. Thank you.

Not all cries are for feed only. If on breastfeeding the child is passing urine more than 8 times than no need of dexolac.

Dear Mother, If you are a first time mother you need support and guidance  from a Lactation  Consultant. Please DO NOT start Formula milk unnecessary. Breastfeeding  is the recommended  way to feed your baby. Consult online.

Feeding has to be on demand, duration of feed should not exceed 15 mins, maximum gap between feeds should by 3 to 4 hours. If baby is passing urine 4 to 5 times in 25 hours, then no need to give formula milk. Every cry is not for hunger and finger sucking is a normal reflex. If you feel that your milk output is less then you can keep formula milk for once or twice in 24 hours.
