I'm a dialysis patient past 4 years , yesterday after dialysis the arm is normal , but today morning there is no vibration.
Went to nearby hospital
They say need to put another fistula .
What happens if there is no thrill/vibration to the AV fistula in the arm .

If the AV fistula has no thrill or vibration then there could be a clot or a thrombus on the fistula.
In this case we often do a colour Doppler to determine the cause.
Based on the report the present fistula can be salvaged by an interventional radiologist or vascular surgeon
If that's not possible then a new fistula may be needed.
Next Steps
1) Colour Doppler ultrasound of the fistula arm
2) Report to vascular surgeon / Nephrologist with the results.
Health Tips
If salvaging the existing fistula is feasible by removing the clot then this option may be explored.
However this needs to be done ASAP.
