My son started speaking late. Until the age of 3, he didnt speak a single word. Doctors told us that he may be on the autism disorder spectrum. However all tests were borderline. As of now, he's speaking but slowly. We are taking him to a speech therapist for the same. Any other precautions/ actions we can take. He doesnt seem to have any other cognitive issues.

If the child is otherwise well, has good social and communication skills please continue the same. Do ensure he spends lot of time interacting with parents, relatives and other children and less with gadgets like mobiles, ipads and tv.
