Autism is a Neuro- developmental disorder characterized by problems in communication( language), reciprocation and stereotypes( repetitive behavior). There is no medication to cure autism. Medications are at times given to control behavioral symptoms associated with autism. It is best managed through non pharmacological mananagement ( therapies to improve language, reciprocation, social skills). Nimhans has a good set up to cater services for autism.
