Am explaining as per guidelines of ICD 10- childhood autism, asperger syndrome comes under pervasive development disorders . Autism areas affected are interaction, communication, restricted or repitative behr. So as said here , he or she might be having the skills but would be finding difficult to use it . From what u said child can speek but its not effective.. so he needs speech therapy and other sessions as soon as possible … focus should not entirely be put on the language and verbal communication . There are other social and emotional skills child need to cope with . There is a need for comprehensive evaluation of child . Nimhans bangalore is a well known centre in india. There are other centres as well based on your place… but key is its not a consultation that makes the difference , its the constant effort from parents and child along with adherence to the treatment which makes the difference . Iam sure you can make a difference

Hi there, From your history, it’s learnt that your child is having ASD -mild to moderate. The Symptoms of ASD is not just speech delay but also include social interactions and communications. And that is with the age-appropriate development of these faculties. These kids may like music and other activities. So speech delay here may mean age appropriate speech development in comparison with an average child of that age.
