Asymmetrical face
From the past 5-6 yrs I have noticed my face looks tilted..now I am realising that I have asymmetrical face as my lips and nose are tilted towards left side it was never like this from birth maybe I have developed it due to certain lifestyle habits..can I fix this asymmetry without any surgery? I am embarrassed about how I look in picture although selfies and mirror image comes out perfect!

Facial asymmetry that develops gradually in your 20s is usually not due to birth defects, but rather to lifestyle factors (such as sleeping on one side, jaw clenching, or poor posture) or minor muscle/nerve imbalances. In many cases, it’s mild and more visible in photos than in real life. Non-surgical options include posture correction, jaw physiotherapy, facial exercises, and in some cases, orthodontic or dental correction - these can improve appearance, though not always fully correct it. If the tilt is new or worsening, you may need to go for imaging to rule out jaw joint or sinus issues. Severe or distressing asymmetry typically requires a cosmetic or orthodontic evaluation.
Next Steps
Consult a dentist or maxillofacial specialist to assess whether non-surgical therapies can help in your case. For personalised guidance, book a consult on Practo.
