It is quite normal to have small ASDs in newborn babies and the size you have mentioned is likely to close on its own. The PDA on the other hand although vital to maintain circulation in fetal life usually closes within the first few days after birth. It also largely depends on the gestation of the baby as it is far more likely to persist in a preterm baby.
