Arthritis Right knee
My mom is suffering from arthritis and is unable to fold her right leg. She can only afford to half fold (90%) or like an "L" shape. Why is it so? Is it because of decrease in cartilage?

Most probable cause at this age is osteoarthritis... It's a degenerative bone disease...There’s no cure for osteoarthritis as yet, but there are a number of treatments that can help ease symptoms and reduce the chances arthritis becoming worse...options are analgesics, NSAIDs,intraosseous steroid injection and hyaluronic acid injections,Physiotherapy like strengthening exercises etc ... Treatment depends upon the stage...I would suggest you to consult nearest orthopedic surgeon they will do the needful.

Hello. This is recognised as sandhigata vata in Ayurveda. Start Ayurveda medicines for better outcome. Use tab trayodasanga guggulu or Mahayogaraja guggulu 2tab twice daily after food. Use balaristha 15ml diluted with equal water after food twice daily. Use Narayana taila or Mahavishagarbha taila for application. If you don't notice relief, consult nearby Ayurveda doctor for detailed evaluation and treatment plan.
