Are tomatoes harmful after 60 age ?

Are tomatoes really harmful after 60 years of age for diabetic patients? I have read somewhere that a person should avoid high potassium food like tomatoes if he is diabetic. Because it can affect CRP level and kidney. Or is it a myth?
