Are push ups safe with retinal thinning
I have retinal thinning in my right eye but I didn't undergo a laser surgery as it was not needed and everything has been going fine. I did 30 pushups today and have slight pain in my right eye. 1. Is it safe for people with retinal thinning to do push ups? Could this pain be due to retinal thinning? There is no redness or any other change in eye visible 2. I also have a frequent violent sneezing problem all year round since childhood. Could this be dangerous to my eye?

Hello A.  This pain is unrelated to retinal thinning B.  Violent exercise can be dangerous... You can get laser done for retinal thinning to decrease the risk

Any valsalva manoeuvre in the form of lifting heavy weights and violent sneezing are unsafe and best avoided in patients with thinned retina, retinal holes or breaks or history of undergoing laser or surgery for the same. Very strenuous exercise is best avoided and if you wish to do the same consult your eye doctor prior to doing any. If a barrage or protective laser is required your eye doctor would be the best person to decide.
