Anti rabies vaccination
Can I take anti-anxiety medication or not? Because I am terrified of rabies, even though I am getting properly vaccinated. I have already taken 2 doses and am about to take the third dose. However, I had previously consulted a psychiatrist who prescribed me two medications. I am thinking of starting those medicines now. Can I take those anti-anxiety medicines right now during my vaccination

I understand your fear. In general, anti-anxiety medicines do not interfere with rabies vaccination, but the exact names and doses must be checked before starting them. Take only what your psychiatrist prescribed and do not stop the rabies vaccine schedule. Avoid self-medication or alcohol. Please share the medicine names with your treating doctor; you can also book a medication review with me on Practo.
Next Steps
Confirm the medicine names and doses with your psychiatrist before starting; continue the vaccine schedule.
