Aneurysm in infra renal
My friend has dissecting aneurysm in the infra renal portion of abdominal aorta extending to right common iliac artery. Whether surgery is must or can be cured with medicines.

Thank you for your question. Depending on the size and morphology of the aneurysm, the decision to treat it can be taken. The current standard of care is an EVAR - Endo vascular Aneurysm Repair procedure. This involves placing a stent which is covered by an impermeable membrane across the aneurysm. This creates a tunnel through the aneurysm and prevents the aneurysm from filling. Specific information like seeing CT Angiogram images would help in giving you further information.
