Main Question-
My Dentist Dr. Jyoti Narla has asked me to get a Root Canal Treatment done for tooth number 26 in the upper left jaw. She has asked me to confirm with a Specialised Neurologist ( in my case my doctor - Dr. Siddharth Kharkar) if she can give me anesthesia?
As I have Epilepsy and I am taking Levera XR 750 regularly since 3 and a half years, so she asked me to consult a neurologist before giving Anesthesia for any RCT.
My other concerns were- since I have been diagnosed with Epilepsy and have started taking medication, I have gained 20KGs of weight, I am suffering from hairfall, hair thinning and breakage of hair (my scalp has started to show). I've also noticed dullness in my skin and pigmentation.
I also wanted to know till when will I have to continue having this medication of Levera XR 750 and can I totally shift on Ayurvedic medicines?

Hello! Your answer to the first part is very easy contact Dr. Siddharth and ask him to provide you with the certificate approving of the anesthesia for RCT treatment, I am sure no other specialist without consultation with you, shall be in a position to provide you with this certificate, as we do not have your detailed background history of your problems.
As for the other part of your question, weight gain and etc, well most of the Anti Epileptic drug have the tendency to induce weight gain in patients, so my advise is to follow a health diet with exercise and keep having your medications regularly do not stop them without consulting your attending doctor.
As for your hairfall, hair thinning it may be due to deficiency of vitamin D ,rarely it may happen due to the side effects of the medicines , so get yourself tested for Vit D25 this would clear out the air, if the results are normal then consult an experienced Dermatologist who can help you with scalp and skin issues.
Finally to the last part of the question, how long do you need to take these medications? Well its generally for three years and/or five years depending on the improvement and your epileptic episodes, the way your body is showing signs of improvement etc, the Doctor would continue, taper down and/or completely discontinue the medications. So it all depends on these factors, however as for the side effects of these medicines once you are off these drugs the side effects are completely reversible so do not take stress about them.
About Ayurveda Medicines, since we are Allopathic doctors we cannot comment the working/functioning of Ayurveda Medicines especially when its a case of epilepsy.
