Amygdala dysfuncion
Is there a cure for amygdala dysfunction which has resulted in chronic elevated levels of stress hormones like cortisol, adrenaline, noraadrenaline. The problem is amygdala realises a fear or worrisome situation very frequently (even sometimes when it should actually not do so) as a result it stimulates hypothalamus, unduly activating the entire hpa axis. Classic treatment involving anti anxiety or tricyclic antidepressants just provide symptomatic relief such as altering/blocking the neurotransmitter activity. I just wanted to know that is there a treatment or cure that can normalise the root cause which is amygdala dysfunction.please help me.
