When wisdom teeth erupts they cause pain due to two reasons, one if they are at an angle and are covered completely or partially by bone and put pressure on the adjacent tooth, secondly when they are partially covered with gums and when that gum becomes affected by infection and lead to a condition known as PERICORONITIS, if you have the second condition then extraction can be spared by simply removing the gum by LASER.
