My father is a diabetic.since 1year,his voice changed.when he consulted an E.N.T.,he was told that he had a polyp on left vocal cord.is it dangerous.is surgery necessary..how much time will take for a surgery.??what happens if it was not removed?

Age is important, Polyp may be of different kinds, need to rule out, any cancer. Need to see patient to decide. Surgery is simple, hardly any pain, takes 15 min.
