Hello, thank you for asking this question! A counselling psychologist is someone who utilizes their training and knowledge in the field of psychology to help people deal with day-to-day challenges, like stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, etc. They usually have a Master’s degree in Counselling, Psychology or other related fields.
A clinical psychologist has a Master’s degree in Psychology, as well as an MPhil degree (in India). Although their role is quite similar to that of counsellors, they have a more theoretical background in the subject, and are trained to administer and analyze psychological tests. They also might have a demonstrated expertise in the treatment of clinical disorders like bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, etc. as opposed to day-to-day issues.
