Your complaints suggest you sustained a ligament sprain. X-ray is only to rule out fracture. Ligament injury is not visible on x-ray. Most of the ligament injuries heal with rest for 3 weeks. As you still have pain, better consult an orthopaedic doctor , who can examine and if require will suggest an MRI.

Hi, With ankle twists, ligament sprain is very common and you need to give it rest along with ultrasonic therapy and taping
