My wife is experiencing pain in her upper side tooth from last night..there is no cavity when I checked.please suggest some medicine which will reduce the pain. And what is the cause of pain?

It is advisable to visit a dentist ASAP and get the right diagnosis done. The cause could be a decay which is not visible but could be detected on an X-ray. Popping a painkiller without knowing the reason is not the right approach.
