Hi , everything has a life span . Usually silver amalgam fillings come about 8 to 10 years . And after which it develops cracks inside and food gets stuck ther . U can get a refilling done either with silver or you can go with teeth coloured fillings .

In all likelihood the fillings which served you well for so many years have to be replaced with a good new ones so that there are no problems of food lodgement in future .Visit your dentist as soon as possible because Dental problems are CUMULATIVE means that if they are neglected then more of them can occur.

Your silver filling may have to be changed. You can either replace it with silver filling or a tooth colour filling. Please do visit your nearby dentist to avoid future infection of that tooth
