Tinidazole tables are strictly  contraindicated and unsafe during FIRST TRIMESTER of pregnancy. May take in 2nd TRIMESTER  but only ofter all alternative exhausted (means no other options are available) 3rd TRIMESTER = Can take in 3rd Trimester

Don't take tindidazole for first three months of pregnancy.

Tinidazole — Pregnancy & Lactation Drug class: Nitroimidazole antimicrobial. Pregnancy: Older labeling classified tinidazole as Pregnancy Category C. The current FDA-style labeling no longer uses letter categories. Human pregnancy data: Available human data are insufficient to establish the risk of major congenital malformations, miscarriage, or adverse fetal outcomes. First trimester: Historically, tinidazole was not recommended/contraindicated in the 1st trimester because of limited human data and placental transfer. Later pregnancy: If clearly indicated, the potential benefit should be weighed against potential fetal risk; it should not be described as proven “harmless.” Breast milk: Yes, tinidazole is excreted into human milk. Published milk-sampling data are limited. No adverse effects in breastfed infants have been reported, but evidence is sparse. Breastfeeding: Current labeling recommends avoiding breastfeeding during treatment and for 72 hours after the last dose; pumping and discarding milk during this period can be considered.

During the first trimester there is organogenesis going on…meaning organs of the baby are formed during the first 12 weeks of gestation period Taking Tinidazole during this period could affect the baby and hence is generally contraindicated during the first trimesters For 2nd & 3rd trimester always start medication in consultation with your Obgy or physician
