2025-04-15 07:28:02
Hello, I have done total thyroidectomy 5 years back due to enlargement of my thyroid gland Now i am currently taking 75 mcg thyronorm medicine and recently i had done TSH test. So my test result shows that my thyroid levels has gone down to 0.489 mIU/ml However i don't experience any major symtoms but some mild includes tiredness, feeling sleepy, weight lose Please suggest if i should change my thyronorm mcg or continue with the same?

Your current TSH level of 0.489 mIU/mL is slightly on the lower side, especially post-thyroidectomy. Mild symptoms like tiredness, sleepiness, and weight loss may suggest slight over-replacement with 75 mcg Thyronorm. However, since symptoms are mild and TSH is not severely suppressed, a small dose adjustment (to 62.5 mcg or alternating 75/62.5 mcg) may be considered after reviewing FT3/FT4 levels. Next step: Consult your endocrinologist with full thyroid profile. Avoid changing the dose on your own. For consultation, connect with me on Practo for video consult
