Thyroid Nodules.

My wife is diagnosed with thyroid nodules. Biopsy report says there's high chance of cancer & advised to go for frozen section. We are a bit worried to go for thyroidectomy. Is there any other alternative to find out if it's actually cancer. If there any other way to remove nodule from thyroid? We are worried about the after surgery complications, like voice box, hormonal imbalance etc. Please let me know if you have any thoughts of this procedure.

If thyroid nodule is reported as suspicious of thyroid cancer then 9 out of 10 times it would turn out to be cancer. I would still suggest you to repeat an FNAC again to confirm cancer. Thyroid cancer is readily curable and a thyroid surgery done by cancer surgeons who are well trained will unlikely to have all the side effects u mentioned.

Health Tips
don't worry about thyroid surgery but make sure u go to an expert cancer specialist don't try to find alternative as surgery can cure this cancer forever. any delay in treatment might turn out to be dangerous in future.
