So, as it seems in your case, you are still feeling calculus and a rough surface. However, it is not necessary that calculus is present there. And if scaling has been done, then the chances of calculus being present are even lower. So, first of all, stop having this misconception that calculus is present. And it could also be that the scaling was not done very well, and because of that, there is roughness on the surface, minor irregularities present, which make it feel like a rough surface. So, my advice is to go once again to your nearest good dentist or periodontist and get proper advice.

Hello. If you are still feeling roughness after scaling, it does not always mean that calculus is still present. Sometimes the rough sensation is due to exposed root surfaces, minor surface irregularities after calculus removal, or calculus remaining below the gum line that requires deep cleaning (scaling and root planing) rather than routine scaling.
Next Steps
I would recommend visiting a dentist or periodontist for a clinical examination. They may check for any remaining subgingival calculus, gum pockets, or other causes of the roughness. If deposits are still present below the gums, they can be removed with deep cleaning using specialized instruments.
Health Tips
Maintaining good oral hygiene with proper brushing, flossing, and regular dental follow-ups will also help prevent recurrence.

Hello Sir. I understand your concern. However mild roughness can be felt post scaling and root planing. Nonetheless if the Calculus is still present you can revisit your Dentist. I would advise you to ask the Dentist to do a polishing post scaling.
Next Steps
Revisit . Polishing. Gum massage
Health Tips
If there is no calculus present, the roughness will reduce in few days. You need not worry

The rough sensation your tongue is feeling could either be leftover tartar or the natural, unpolished surface of the teeth after calculus has been removed, which can temporarily feel strange to the tongue. • Schedule a Follow-Up: Return to your dentist for an evaluation. They can check if any tartar was missed or if you require a deep cleaning. • Ask for Root Planing: Request a procedure called scaling and root planing (deep cleaning), which specifically targets and removes calculus beneath the gum level. • Request Polishing: If the tartar is already gone but the teeth just feel rough, ask your dentist to polish the areas to make them smooth again. • Do Not Try to Scrape It Yourself: Avoid using any dental picks, toothpicks, or DIY tools at home to scrape the teeth or gums. This can permanently damage your enamel and severely injure your gum tissue. • Maintain Gentle Care: Keep brushing twice a day with a soft-bristled toothbrush and floss daily to keep the area clean until your appointment, but do not scrub aggressively.
