Medically and hygienically, it is not necessary to take a full bath every time you poop. Proper cleaning of the anal area with water or tissue is sufficient. When the mind insists that you must bathe immediately to feel “clean” or to reduce discomfort or disgust, and skipping the bath causes anxiety or restlessness, this points more toward a compulsive habit driven by OCD-related contamination fear, not an actual hygiene requirement.
In OCD, the relief you feel after bathing reinforces the habit, making the urge stronger over time. Therapy especially CBT with exposure and response prevention helps break this cycle by teaching your brain that discomfort can pass without the ritual. This is very treatable with the right psychological support.
