My mother faces a lot of problem in the left leg near the ankle region. While standing ,doing house hold chores for long time she gets swelling near the angle region.What could be the causes? Please tell what tests she should undergo to diagnose the root cause. PS -She is diabetic, detected last october.

Hello! That can be neurogenic swelling coz of nerve interruption or Diabetic foot. Also it can over or additional response if she is overweight & osteoarthritis that's common case at this age. Final diagnosis can tell by examine the patient only. I can tell you only rough idea here. Regards.
