Swelling in knee

Dear doctors, Kindly help regarding this. My mother is 69 years old. She has too much knee swelling. Right now she is taking proxym xt and orcerin gm. Started yesterday night. After taking yesterday too much pain but now pain is reduced a bit although she cannot walk properly. Also taking rosiflex C for a long time. Also on sugar, pressure medications She already has knee problem but this severe swelling is from the past 3 to 4 days. I am attaching one previous report and also current photo of the knee. What exactly is this and how can we proceed further?

It would be better if you uploaded Xray Images instead of report. As per the report and your description, there seems to to be osteoarthritis of knee. OA knee at this age should be medically managed for a couple of months. If relief is not there, surgery is advised. The medicine she's currently taking are not adequate according to me.

She is having arthritis which is age related in her knees.

it's important firstly to grade this condition by getting a fresh x ray done.

continue with the medications that are already being taken by her . use heating pads diclofenac gel for local application

Your mother has developed OA knee where gap is reduced between the bones due to damage to the cushion of knee. Taking pain killers for a few days ok but not much. Nothing can be said without looking at the patient. She can go for platelet rich plasma therapy though.
