Your baby’s kidneys are showing mild–moderate hydronephrosis (right 8.4 mm, left 6.9 mm), most likely due to PUJ obstruction. This is a common finding and usually improves on its own. Your amniotic fluid and baby’s growth are important, and if those stay normal, there is no risk to the baby during pregnancy. After birth, the baby will get a kidney ultrasound to check again, and most babies do not need surgery.

Consult a fetal medicine specialist and paediatric urologist as one kidney falls under moderate and other is in mild range. Serial ultrasounds are required to see for progression of hydronephrosis. Genetic evaluation is also needed. 50% of the cases require surgery.
