If you're experiencing pain and irritation around the Stensen's duct opening or notice any changes in your mouth, it's recommended to consult a dental or medical professional for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate guidance. Pain and irritation in the mouth can have various potential causes, including infections, irritations, or other underlying issues. Smoking can increase the risk of oral health problems, but only a healthcare professional can provide a proper evaluation and determine the cause of your symptoms. While it's natural to be concerned about serious conditions like cancer, there are many other more common and less serious causes of symptoms in the mouth. It's important not to jump to conclusions but rather consult a professional for an examination. If you have a history of smoking, it's even more important to have any concerning symptoms checked promptly. Dental or medical professionals can assess your symptoms, take your medical history into account, and recommend any necessary tests or treatments. Early detection and intervention are key to addressing any potential health issues.
