Something's got stuck in the teeth
Hello Dr!
My dad's teeth are like these since years and he is not ready to take the treatment.
Please let me know whether it is serious or not.

As seen, the cavity in the second last tooth (2nd Molar), appears deep. An X-ray would be required to check the severity of the infection. Depending on the spread of infection, swelling and pain, the treatment will be advised. However, please do not postpone the treatment as the infection will continue to spread.

The second last tooth has a big cavity.
Please tell me the following:-
- If there was pain in that region?
- If there was swelling in that region?
- Did he ever have pain on chewing in that side?
That tooth is in pretty bad condition as per the picture attached by you.
The treatment required can be decided after you answer the above questions and a xray of the tooth will be needed.

I presume you are primarily referring to the decayed teeth (2nd molar)
1. Cavity appears deep
2. Let me know if there is/was associated pain
3. Also let me know any history of swelling in the region
4. It is important to undergo a Dental X-ray to assess the severity of decay/infection
On evaluation of above factors, the seriousness can be judged.
However, it is advisable to convince your father to get treated before the condition of the tooth deteriorates.
