Yes, drowsiness and morning grogginess are common pregabalin side effects, especially early on or at higher doses. It often improves as your body adjusts, but persistent dizziness needs dose review. Don't stop it suddenly; avoid driving until this settles. Book a private consult so I can check if your dose needs adjusting.

It's common effect of pregabalin. Pregabalin is very good medicine for nerve pain. Take it around 6pm in the evening. So it's effectiveness will be lost by next morning.

Hello. Yes, what you are experiencing is a very common and entirely expected side effect of Pregabalin. Because this medication works by calming down overactive pain signals in your central nervous system (the brain and spinal cord), it naturally induces a state of deep relaxation. This leads to excessive sleepiness (somnolence) at night and a residual "hangover" effect, making you feel dizzy or groggy the next morning. This is your body's standard initial response to the medication.
Next Steps
Recommended Adjustments: Shift the Timing: Instead of taking the tablet right at bedtime, try taking it 2 to 3 hours before you plan to sleep. This helps the peak drowsiness pass earlier in the night, significantly reducing next-day morning dizziness. Give it Time: For most patients, the central nervous system adapts to Pregabalin within 7 to 14 days of consistent use, and the morning grogginess will naturally fade away. Dose Titration: If the dizziness is severe enough to affect your daily daytime routine, speak with your prescribing doctor about stepping down to a lower dose (e.g., 50mg or 75mg) initially, and gradually titrating it upwards.
Health Tips
Word of Caution: Please do not stop taking Pregabalin abruptly on your own, as sudden discontinuation can trigger withdrawal symptoms, sleep disturbances, or a sudden rebound of severe nerve pain. Also, avoid driving or riding a two-wheeler while you are still experiencing this dizziness. To safely review your current dosage chart, discuss alternative neuropathic pain strategies, or get a clear clinical roadmap, you can book a consultation via my profile or reach out directly on WhatsApp at: six three six nine four six zero five seven seven.

The side effect of pregabalin is sleepiness. So it is banned as otc. Many take it to get a good sleep. But its effect goes after a few days. So if after using for a few days you still feel sleepy then lower the dose or divide the dose. If still sleepiness is present ... STOP IT.

You might be taking the above treatment under the supervision of a specialist. You are advised to consult your treating physician. He might change the dose or the medicine itself.

Yes, excessive sleepiness and dizziness are common side effects of pregabalin, especially during the initial few weeks of treatment or after a dose increase.
Next Steps
Taking it at night is usually recommended to reduce daytime drowsiness, but if you are sleeping excessively or feeling dizzy the next day, you should discuss this with your treating doctor. They may consider reducing the dose, adjusting the timing, or switching to an alternative medication if needed. Do not stop pregabalin abruptly without medical advice.
Health Tips
Avoid driving, operating machinery, or consuming alcohol while experiencing these symptoms. If the dizziness is severe, you have difficulty walking, confusion, or recurrent falls, seek medical attention promptly.
