hello, you need to visit a dentist and get it checked. ask for a night guard. you can do hot fomentation near your ear. this will give you relief from pain. take a hot water bath at night and listen to music before sleeping. this will help you calm down.

Consult with a dentist

MRI is a safe and non invasive method to visualise the TM joint. If you are claustrophobic then you can discuss the same with the radiologist and any issue can be addressed.
Next Steps
If your dentist/Specialist has referred you for an MRI, it's better to get it done, rather then delaying.
Health Tips
Symptoms when treated early will help achieve good treatment results, delaying will only lead to further complications.

Hello, you should go ahead and get an MRI done for the TMJ.It is a relatively painless and a safe procedure giving good information regarding the joint space and surrounding ligaments, which would help at arriving at the diagnosis,so that an effective treatment can be planned. Regards Dr Sumanmakam
