Scared of cancer/TB

2024-03-05 08:18:04
I have been having cough and phlegm since a month and even though cough is reduced i get phlegm, enough to clear my throat many times. Now, during the antibiotics phase on day 3 morning, i had a episode of blood in cough, maybe i forced the cough. Then today morning, no cough but while i clear the phlegm out of my throat i saw blood, but after that there's no blood in any mucus, its mostly clear with bubbles. I have been askee for a chest xray from the pulmonologist but i am too scared to get an xray and just delaying it. I cannot gather courage. A relative of mine is being treated for stage 4 lung cancer, and due to the fear what if it is tb or cancer i am unable to gather courage and go for xray. I broke down and cried this afternoon, please guide me :(. Attached 2 pics, 1 pic is the phlegm with streak of blood this morning, 2nd pic is how my phlegm looks in general when i clear my throat

Sometimes you can have cough after a viral infection for a long time Even certain allergic conditions can cause cough to be there for a long time The pic you posted shows only a streak of blood which can happen occasionally even in infections or allergies So don’t worry too much Please consult physician with detailed history so that they can guide you with regards to medication and decide if other tests are needed
