Scared I will get rabies and die

2026-09-13 13:17:38
Five days ago, while I was standing in traffic near a dark tree/park area and looking toward the traffic, I suddenly felt something small and flying brush the right side of my nose and then my right eyelashes. I did not see a bat and I don't know what it was. I have previously completed rabies vaccination: last regular dose 07/12/2025, boosters on 06/03/2026, 09/03/2026, and 02/04/2026. Scared and can't focus on my studies

You are not sure about the bite ,it's better to visit nearby clinic and get it confirmed. As you are already vaccinated,no need to panic.

Since you are not sure what it was, it’s better to visit some nearby clinic for assessment of the injury, because bat bite can be extremely small and unnoticeable. As you have completed full dose of Rabies vaccine few months before so if needed you will need only 2 more doses one on Day 0 and Day 3. That would be enough.
Next Steps
Don’t panic. If you want you can consult me and share the photo of the injured site for better advice.
Health Tips
From next incase of such exposure, always wash the area thoroughly with soap water and never apply any ointment/ cream and keep the area open.

A definite bite is not confirmed, but any possible bat or animal contact near the face should be assessed urgently because a bite can be tiny. I would advise washing any suspected area with soap and running water for 15 minutes; do not apply irritants. Take your vaccination records to an anti-rabies clinic today—they will decide whether any further vaccine or immunoglobulin is needed. If fever, tingling, or difficulty swallowing occurs, seek emergency care immediately.
