if clinically severe decay of teeth is visible there is no need for a xray. rootcanal will have absolutely no effect on your health. dont delay your treatment

hello, root canal treatment is the safest procedure in and out done everyday in all clinics by almost all dentists. if there is infection to the roots of your teeth, root canal treatment is the best treatment.

Hi, I know there is a prevailing myth recently that root canal is not good for general health. Its a big myth. There are millions of tooth being saved all over the world with the procedure called root canal treatment. When it's been done by a root canal specialist, as a patient u need not worry for anything. About your question regarding necessity, root canal treatment becomes absolutely necessary when u have to save your tooth instead of removing it. Of course u need to take an X-ray before starting a root canal treatment. But at times by seeing your tooth from outside, experienced dentists can say whether the tooth would really require a root canal treatment or not. So don't worry, just go ahead for the treatment

A root canal wont cause trouble nor it would be of a  health concern  provided its done properly.. if the trouble is not solved in spite of  Root Canal treatment  then you might have to get the concerned tooth removed. Here one may not be able to examine your details and address it...thus pls follow the advise of your Specialist.

Hi There are no health issues associated with root canal . At times the condition of teeth is such that an X Ray is not required to suggest a root canal . A root canal becomes necessary when an associated cavity in tooth is near or involving the pulp tissues If suggested you should probably go for one Regards

1-As such there as no authentic reports in literature pointing towards I'll effects on general health So, it's a myth.  2-most commonly root canal treatment is needed when caries (bacteria) involves pulp of your teeth. Other situations where RCT required are type 3# of teeth, non vital tooth due to trauma,  etc 3- it's always better to go ahead with diagnostic IOPA(x ray),  but clinical condition of your tooth can be enough for a dentist to take a call for RCT.

No health issues after rct..just relax..sometimes tooth is in such bad shape that you don't require xray to decide treatment...go for rct...I am sure that the doctor will take xray later

Root canal will not cause any other health issues. The canals can be cleaned 100%  unless there are accessory canals/ severely curved canals. If you understand the anatomy of tooth, the outermost layer is called enamel, next layer is called dentin, and the inner most layer is called pulp.pulp has nerves and blood supply for tooth and is responsible for pain when infected. When a tooth decays, and is within enamel, only color change can be seen. When tooth decay extends to dentin, color change and sensitivity of tooth will be there. In both suitations, a simple filling may be enough. But when tooth decay extends to pulp, the bacteria from decay enter the blood vessels of tooth and cause severe pain. In some cases the tooth becomes dead and no pain will be there inspite of the infection. Root canal treatment/RCT is aimed at removing the infected tissue and replacing it with a non reactive, inert material so as to restore the functionality of the tooth.. X rays are usually taken when there is a doubt whether to go for a filling or rct or tooth removal. An experienced doctor can recommend the right treatment by seeing the tooth and based on the symptoms described by the patient.
