I have a decayed tooth and my dentist suggested me to go for root canal. I just want to know is there any other option other than giving INJECTION. I am having phobia from injection and that's the scary part. Can someone pls help.
Right now there are a number of needle-free anesthesia products on the market. You should check with your dentist to see if they use any at their practice.
There are alternatives to local anesthesia.
1. Electronic anesthesia
2. Subgingival
3. Cryogenic
Remember, since these technologies are new, they may not be available through some dental offices and your dentist may prefer traditional anesthesia techniques during certain procedures.
If the decay is very deep and has caused pain then root canal or removal of the tooth is the only option both of which require an injection. I understand that you are scared but you can tell your dentist to use extra fine needles. With these needles and a lot of topical anaesthetic believe me you will barely even feel the prick!
