Right hand shoulder joint pain

2026-07-29 06:11:23
I have had the right hand shoulder joint pain for 2 weeks. I asked a physiotherapist and he told me that I have a frozen shoulder. Please let me know what I should do.

Stand in front of a mirror with your arms relaxed by your sides and your elbows straight. Slowly lift the affected arm forward (in front of you) as high as possible, trying to bring it close to your ear. Lower the arm, then slowly lift it out to the side, again trying to bring it close to your ear. Compare both shoulders. If you are able to lift your arm close to your ear in both directions without significant pain or stiffness, a frozen shoulder is less likely. If you are unable to lift your arm close to your ear because of pain and marked stiffness, especially in both directions, it may suggest a frozen shoulder. However, similar symptoms can also occur with rotator cuff injuries, shoulder impingement, arthritis, or other shoulder conditions.
Next Steps
visit physiotherapist for accurate diagnosis and treatment A proper physical examination by a physiotherapist or orthopedic specialist is necessary to confirm the diagnosis and plan the appropriate treatment.
Health Tips
Avoid forcing the shoulder through pain. Perform gentle shoulder movements within a comfortable range. Apply a warm pack for 15–20 minutes before doing shoulder exercises if stiffness is present. Avoid lifting heavy weights or performing overhead activities until you have been assessed. Try to use the affected arm for light daily activities to prevent further stiffness, but avoid painful movements.

A frozen shoulder cannot be confirmed based only on symptoms, especially if the pain has been present for just 2 weeks. It is important to assess your shoulder movements, pain pattern, and rule out conditions such as rotator cuff injury, bursitis, or cervical spine-related pain. With an accurate diagnosis, most shoulder conditions improve well with the right physiotherapy.
Next Steps
Please consult a Physiotherapist for a detailed clinical examination. Avoid self-exercises until the diagnosis is confirmed, as some exercises can aggravate the condition.
Health Tips
Avoid lifting heavy weights or performing painful overhead activities. Apply a hot fomentation for 15 to 20 minutes, 3 to 4 times a day if it provides relief. Early diagnosis and timely physiotherapy usually lead to better outcomes.

You need proper assessment to confirm weather it's a frozen shoulder not. In frozen shoulder you can't lift your hand above 90° and can't fold you hand back. There will be severe pain. Apply hot pack twice a day, consult nearby physiotherapist and take proper treatment, it may take upto 3 weeks or more depending on your condition.
