The swelling is due to infection in ur tooth it might be due to deep caries or bcz if ur wisdom tooth( if coming in wrong direction and pressing ur cheek muscles will cause spasm and swelling ) , consult dentist get X-ray done and so that we can can figure out the cause for swelling and pain . If it’s decay go for root canal as suggested by dentist if wisdom tooth go for extraction. Do it quick before infection spreads.

Cause of swelling can only be ruled out after seeing intraoral pictures. If there is decayed tooth, get it root canal treated or removed based on severity of decay.you can consult through this with images of wide open mouth.
