I had a blood test done at the lab 39 days ago and the technician didn't check if they used a new syringe when drawing my blood. Is there a chance that I could get HIV if they used that needle on someone with HIV?

Dear Practo User. Thanks for sending across your query. Risk of HIV from reused needles is extremely low at labs with standard protocols. If you're anxious, a lab-based HIV test after 6 weeks can help ease your concern. Early testing ensures peace of mind and timely care if needed.
