Regarding insulin in-take

2020-07-19 05:07:00
My father takes 35units insulin twice everyday before breakfast and dinner. And he is taking insulin for 10 years. Is it good to use insulin for such long duration? Can we switch to pills? I have attached recent sugar test report. Kindly advice.

Hello.. As I see your father is taking very high doses of insulin.. These may cause wt gain, increased appetite and hypoglycemia risk... If possible and indicated we can definitely add pills which will help in reducing insulin doses at least... Consult endocrinologist for proper evaluation and management.. U can do it online nowadays
