If a breastfed baby has not passed stool for up to 5–7 days, it can still be normal as long as: * Baby is feeding well * Abdomen is not swollen * Baby is not vomiting * When stool comes, it is soft (not hard) Breast milk is highly digestible, so some babies pass stool only once in several days. What you can do: * Do gentle tummy massage (clockwise) 2–3 times a day * Do bicycle leg movements * Ensure good breastfeeding and hydration * Give a warm bath, which may stimulate stool Do **not force the baby to pass stool** and avoid medicines or suppositories unless advised by a doctor. See a doctor if: * Baby becomes very uncomfortable * Abdomen becomes swollen * Vomiting occurs * Stool is hard like pellets * No stool even after 7–10 days.
