Red patch on roof of mouth

The last few days i have had a cough and a cold but i noticed a red patch on the roof of my mouth. It doesn't hurt just feels a little odd and want to know if its something i should worry about

Could be due to a hot drink or food you consumed which could have hurt the palate. If it's on the soft palate it could be due to your cough.
