I have 2–3 small, flat, red, itchy rashes around my anal opening and on the surrounding skin. This problem has been coming and going for a long time. There is no bleeding, pain during bowel movements, scaling, peeling, or significant moisture. I sometimes feel mild discomfort while sitting. I can also feel a slightly hard area near the upper edge of the anal opening when I press the area. It causes mild pain when pressed but has remained roughly the same for a long time and is not getting worse. I have occasionally used Castor MF cream. Could this be a fungal infection, skin irritation, hemorrhoid, or something else? Which specialist should I consult, and do I need a physical examination?
