First we need to be sure whether the child is having loose stools or not. If stools are post feeds and baby is active , passing urine 6-7 times a day and accepting feeds well then nothing to worry and it is normal. If consistency has changed as compared to before , is lethargic , poor feeding them you need to consult.

If baby is active, feeding well, passing urine normally → mostly normal, no need to worry. Watch for danger signs: • very frequent watery stools • vomiting • poor feeding • less urine • lethargy / fever What you should do: • continue breastfeeding (don’t stop) • no outside milk / water • maintain hygiene If any warning signs present or stools suddenly increased a lot → show to doctor, may need evaluation.
