Rat bites are generally considered very low risk for rabies. Rodents like rats rarely transmit rabies to humans, and in India, ARV is not routinely recommended for rat bites. That said, do wash the wound well with soap and water immediately, and make sure your tetanus vaccination is up to date. Watch the wound for signs of infection like redness or swelling.

Not needed after rat bite. Take inj. Tetanus toxoid. Clean the bite site with antiseptic solution and apply betadine ointment over it.

No need to worry at all 👍🏻 Rat bites carry very low risk of rabies. Rats are not typical carriers like dogs or cats.

Anti-rabies vaccination (ARV) is generally not required for rat bites. Rats and other small rodents (like mice, squirrels, and hamsters) are extremely rare carriers of rabies, and transmission.
Next Steps
Take one inj TT.
