Radius fracture

2019-08-12 06:32:04
I had radius fracture on 11 march 2019 . Was operated and a plate was fixed with 5 screws. The fracture was slightly below elbow. After that I had plaster for 45 days. Since 25 April I am doing physiotherapy but my ROMis very limited. Around 30 degree. I wonder how long will it take. Will removal of plate help in getting improved range of motion. Or is plate restricting my rom.please find attached xray.

Fixation of fracture is good . Plate is not restricting  the Rom of Elbow. following surgery stiffness around elbow can occur.  This can be treated with good physiotherapy
Health Tips
exercise has to be done every day without failure and increase Tom every day by 5 degree

This may be due to stiffness. You have to undergo intense physiotherapy to get rid off this stiffness.

Doesn't look like plate is causing ur limited ROM , 25 days was enough time if u were doing the physiotherapy right and aggressively. Stiffness is common complications  of elbow after immobilization. Continue physiotherapy- with good effort ,, if u have pain ,, give warm compress , and do it actively.
