The doctor will take your teeth measurements and will send the impressions to the dental laboratory for fabrication of the appliance. Your dentist is right. U must use night guards. It helps to protect the existing teeth and tooth structure. If not used can result in excessive wear of teeth and hence RCT followed by bruxer crowns will be required. Even the TMJ joint gets affected. Hi, The advise given by your dentist is correct. The attrition is probably due to unconscious grinding of the teeth in the night while sleeping. Initial few days, you will slight discomfort while going to sleep, but will get used to it in a few days. This will do disturb your sleep.
