My wife is pregnant for 6 weeks. She is consuming levocitrizen tablet (5 mg) once in 48 hrs since one year due to itching problem. She is pregnant now. I can't got to hospital or doctor due to COVID-19. Is it harmful for baby or mother's health???

Levocetrizine doesnot fall under catagory c which means it will not cause serious damage to growth of pregnancy However Organogenesis is happening bet 7-9 weeks of embryo This is the time all medications to be avoided Safe n proved supplement is folic acid , which is must So advising to stop

We normally don’t advise any medication in early pregnancy except for vomiting and folic acid supplements.do check with physician or dermatologist for this as I don’t think levocetrizine once in 48 hours for a year is any kind of a treatment .avoid it please

Hi. If she can mange without cetrizine let her not take it till 12 weeks or can reduce the dose .
