Usually we impulsively react in situations without first thinking over it. Some of these responses are learnt from our parents or some are genetic.
Now think of the last time you became overpossessive about your partner. Now try and think of what else you could have done in the situation. Write it down. Next time try and apply it.
Get some counselling regularly for 2-3 months till you observe a change.
